Prototype – Battery Factory

Battery Factory is a mobile game made in collaboration with A3headedcat. The game is a pick-up-and-play app for short gaming sessions.

My role in this project was programming and implementation while A3headedcat was responsible for animation and design.

The first iteration of the game was created using (original) GameMaker and was later fully rebuilt from scratch in Unity for better portability to mobile devices.

Battery Factory was designed with a single-player focus, along with the possibility of later implementation of a multiplayer mode.

The existing single-player mode is a simple, reactive task-switching game. Players try to reach a high score by tapping on their devices when a battery appears and not tapping when an alien appears. Tapping on a battery increases the score by 1 while tapping on an alien causes it to explode, triggering game over.

Here’s a bit of gameplay that I recorded before handing the project and code over to A3headedcat. Battery Factory was released on May 8th, 2021 on Google Play and is available for download here!
